Identification Process

Parker High School and the School District of Janesville acknowledge the following six areas of giftedness.  Students can be identified as talented and gifted in one or several of these areas:
  • General Intellectual
  • Specific Academic
  • Leadership
  • Creativity
  •  Visual Arts
  •  Performing Arts
SDJ policy is to employ multiple criteria for the identification of Talented & Gifted students.  A combination of teacher/parent nominations, teacher rating scales, and high performance on normed/standardized tests is necessary for students to become identified as talented and gifted.
