Young Writers Workshop

Ever dreamed of being the next J.K.Rowling?  Join the Young Writers Workshop!

Students in grades 4-9 with an interest in writing won't want to miss our new Young Writers Workshop.  The four-week class will instruct students on writing practices, genres, poetry styles, and story composition.

CWW Young Writers Award

The Young Writers Award recognizes Wisconsin high school students who excel at creative writing.  Any Wisconsin high school student may enter the contest by submitting a piece of writing according to the guidelines in the link below.  All entries will be read and judged anonymously by the CWW Board of Directors.  The judges will select one winner and one honorable mention.  The winner receives $250 and the honorable mention receives $50. 

The submission deadline is January 31, 2019

Advanced Placement Exam Registration for 2019

For the 2019 AP exams, students at Parker and Craig High Schools will be registering online.

This year each AP exam costs $94.00

Online Exam registration will begin on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 3:00 PM and end on March 29, 2019 at 12:00 AM (midnight).  In order to register, students should clink on the link provided on the district website or visit https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/500953 (Parker) or https://user.totalregistration.net/AP/500955 (Craig).  

Here are the important dates for the registration process:

• Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 3:00 PM- Registration Begins
• Friday, March 29, 2019 at 12:00 AM (Midnight)- Registration Ends
• Monday, April 1, 2019 at 12:00 AM (Midnight)- Registrations not paid for will be cancelled and exams will not be ordered.
• Students who cancel an exam after April 2, 2019 will be offered a partial refund of the exam fee minus cancellation fee of $20.00 (per exam cancelled).  After Friday, May 17th, 2019 there are no refunds.  

The School District of Janesville is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration.  Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration.

MILWAUKEE NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAY

Please join us for the 2018 National Portfolio Day hosted by the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10am – 2pm. The event will be held at MIAD’s main academic facility, the Jane Bradley-Pettit building, located at 273 East Erie Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202. This event is free and open to the public.

This is an opportunity for those who wish to pursue an education in the visual and related arts to meet with representatives from colleges accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. It is also an opportunity to explore MIAD’s program, meet MIAD’s faculty and view our facility.
